Want a loud horn? This video "Dials In" my previous horn projects to get more volume and adjustable sounds (tones) by making loud PVC horns that are quick to make. I've made PVC replicas of truck and train horns but they require glueing and screwing the parts together and it does require some precision. I wanted an easier and more simple way to create a similar sound and I found it! I will show you how to make this amazing DIY PVC horn in just a little bit of time using items that can be found in hardware stores. In fact, I will show several versions of this build and demonstrate alternative materials that can be used. I demonstrate how to make PVC horns that have high pitch, low pitch and variations of each. You can also make them larger or smaller by using different size PVC and fittings which will also give you different sounds. It is creative and fun so experiment and make if to fit your need. Any of the horns in the video makes a great noisemaker for celebrations, sporting events, having fun with kids, annoying your friends or roommates, being silly or just merely to have some fun making something for yourself. I have even seen this used quite successfully for pranks (you can make one loud enough to really make someone jump... so just in case, be careful who is around you).

Materials for this project:
- PVC Pipe (in the first build I used 1" pipe; a 2" piece and a 9" piece)
- Tube or pipe (I used 1/2" cheap plastic pipe that I salvaged but you can also use other tubes... like the paper tube from a clothes hanger)
- Diaphragm material: old bicycle tube. You can also use an old glove (kitchen glove, nitrile, latex, rubber, etc.)
- Tape: any of the following - plumbers tape, painters tape, duct tape or Gorilla tape
- Optional: funnel to create a bell (I used a long oil funnel)
- Fittings for 1" PVC horn: male adapter (1" x 1/2" threaded), 1" Tee, 1" Coupling
- Fittings for larger horns (ex. 2" ABS pipe): substitute bushings for the male adapter (you can use 2 on the Tee directly; 1 on the side and 1 on the end where the small tube is inserted)
In future videos I will continue to have louder and more elaborate horns... even one perfect for use with an air compressor. The basic principle and design are used for this horn, truck horns and even train horns.
