Part 2 Answer:
About two months ago I visited New York for two weeks. My friend invited me to visit her and so I decided to go. She’s working there at the moment and I hadn’t seen her in a long time so I thought it would be a good chance to catch up with her and also see a place I’ve never been to before.

New York was amazing – it’s so big! Everything is so huge! The buildings are awesome, so tall and majestic and the whole city seems to be full of energy.

Anyway, I stayed with my friend in her apartment and over the two weeks we visited lots of different places such as restaurants, museums, historical places of interest, and lots of shops. The shopping in New York is brilliant – there are so many of them and lots of stores that we don’t have back home so I bought lots of presents for my family and friends back home.

Obviously we went to see all the famous tourist attractions like the Empire State building, Central Park, Manhattan and loads of other interesting places. The whole experience was amazing and I would love to do it again in the future... maybe for a longer period of time, but I had some things I needed to do at home so I could only stay for a couple of weeks when I went. But it would be nice to go back again.

While I was there I also ate a lot more than usual because the food was so good, and it’s everywhere. Nearly every street has food vendors selling different kinds of food at stalls and kiosks and then there are all the cafes and bistros as well – the choice is quite incredible.

My overall impression of New York was that it’s an enormous city and there seems to be traffic and people all day every day no matter what time of day or night you go out – there is always a lot of activity on the street. I had a great a time and look forward to visiting again and spending some more time there exploring all the things I didn’t have time to see last time.

IELTS Speaking Tip:

Being nervous is the number one casue of poor performance in the IELTS speaking test. So practice speaking English (and answering IELTS speaking questions) as often as you can.

Record yourself, speak to yourself in the mirror - practice, practice, practice!

The more comfortable and confident you feel - the better your performance will be in the real IELTS speaking test.

Good luck with your IELTS preparation!
